Your Happiness

0 comments

There are certain dreams that I dare not dream—
Desires bound so deep they will never be heard.
Alas, they are lost thoughts destined to return,
The haunting memories that never were.
We peer through time like picture windows,
As we both watch ourselves grow so old.
I think happiness evades us both, or so I hope—
That each of your smiles are touched
With the same wistfulness mine are.
Though that may make me nothing short of evil,
Your happiness would pain my dearly,
While I remain tearful and void of joy.
You are the dream I dare not dream,
That I repress beyond belief.

Your Memory Forever

0 comments
Honesty is evasive and remains distant forever,
Never will this voice shutter the words told,
Never will we ever grow old.
Hold on to this moment, you won’t get it back—
Your dreams will become reality
And reality will soon be a memory past.
For separate lives come together
Maybe for a moment, maybe forever.
You will never live up to expectations,
So your live your life now,
While it is still an endeavor.

You're Gone

I’m afraid of what you would think of me,
If you understood the way my mind works
And it’s terrifying for me to speak to you,
I shake from my head to the floor.
Your beauty is caught in my gaze,
I cannot rid myself of the image of you,
But now—preempted—you are gone;
All I can think of is your return
Where I can hang on your every word.
I dream of seeing you smile again
And like thoughts keep me awake at night.
But will you ever hear me speak?
Or be told of how my heart beats?
I may always be left with memories,
As unbearable as that thought may be.

Your Voice

0 comments
Your voice is just a fleeting echo
That lingers when you’re gone—
So soft—confined to isolated moments;
Delicate and raising flickers of hope—
A trap of optimism that I fall into.
Your words are lost when you speak,
For I can’t hear a word you say
Over the sound of my heart beating
And the weakness that overcomes me.
Silence seems to reign in my world,
But each day I pray I’ll learn to speak.

You

And now that you're gone
I can't help but wonder why
It feels like I have been here before—
Sleepless nights with your name held
On the tip of my tongue is nothing new.
And now everything is changing
And you've seemed to have disappeared;
I feel like you may be changing too.
We are living in two different worlds now
And as I lay awake restless I hope
That we may meet again someday,
If even for a moment so I can again say
What I've already said before.
I'm starting to think it was all I dream,
That you might not be real
Because as quick as you came you're gone again—
Why can’t you just stay the same?

You're Killing Me

0 comments
I’m lost in the trees that used to conceal,
Being torn down the middle, right in two.
You’re killing me slowly; you are surreal—
I hear your voice and don’t know what to do.
My dogmatic figure falls to the meek,
I must summon courage and speak anew.
Even blackbirds cry as I do weep,
I crumple into memories of you.
Alas, I stare at stars from the rooftop,
Teetering on a ledge, no ground below.
Under my breast my heart lays still, full stop
Time seems to move fast but my tears dry slow.
Will I think to try again tomorrow?
Or sit on this ledge, still draped in sorrow?

You Shouldn't

0 comments
This shouldn’t bother me but it does,
I think about it daily, it consumes me.
I should take the quick way home but I don’t.
I should tell you how I feel but I won’t,
I can’t speak my mind, well… Because of it.
My hands still shakes when I think of it—
Heart beats out of my chest until I feel weak.
My smile disappears and all the jokes cease.
In this moment I’m not ridiculous, I’m serious.
I don’t stammer but words are plain and few,
It shouldn’t bother me but it does,
I think about it daily, for better or worst.

You Stole My Voice

I want to speak, but you stole my voice,
You leave me second guessing all my words
And for better or for worse, all my choices.
I may be silent but my heart is not,
It flutters when I think of you,
The air grows thin, and yes, the room spins—
Every word is wrong; my voice squeaks.
You stole my next line, ultimatum and vision.
Mirrors surround and smile back at me,
It’s not the smile that you deserve.
I want to say sorry, but my voice is meek.
I want to say hello, but you deserve better.

You're Terrifying

I'm afraid when I'm lost in thought,
it feels as though I won't escape—not this time.

I'm afraid that I've made a mistake,
just one, but it keeps me from forgetting you.

I'm afraid that you cross my mind too much,
more often then once in a while.

I'm afraid that my best years have passed,
everything that I'm left to live may be a shadow.

I'm afraid of my potential, how far I could regress,
there's so far I have left to fall... Will I live it?

I'm afraid when the morning comes,
it could be the last... The last without you.

I'm afraid of everything around me,
but mostly...  I'm afraid of you.

You're Already Gone

I'm looking in all of the wrong places;
I will not find you on a park bench,
that I know, but yet it's where I look for you.
Maybe someday you'll come to sit
and watch the birds as I do today.
By then, I'll be long gone-
your life will have just begun.
Here I sit on my last day and I'm without you,
I came to search for you-but I sit alone.
You should come and sit down beside me,
We could reminisce about who I should be.
Tell me where to find you, I'll look there.
Like an apparition, appear before me
show me where to sit- I don't want to sit alone.
My hands become frozen forever, waiting for you,
Still I sit, on the same bench I've always been on,
Hands frozen, I still search for you.

Your Words

0 comments
The clock never ticks,
inside an utopia such as this.
With your face transfixed,
your mind has nothing left to miss.
Your face is hollow,
your voice appears mindless.
With the words to say your shallow
today is the day you confess.
So you say you lived in glory;
Time with me was never wasted.
You look to me and say your sorry;
On me your words are wasted,
I have no words left to say;
I have no words to say I'm sorry.

You and I (Watch The Stars)

4 comments

Through the window, the roof I remember;
the sky we sat and stared forever.
Back then we were dancers, you and I,
our memories we thought would last forever.
On the rooftop, the stars were mine,
you and I, we sat forever.
Those nights I can still remember,
they'll haunt me until I die.
You're the only thing I'll see forever;
even though you're no longer mine.

You Are

Your presence ushers distress
to everyone you defend.
You are, you are nobody,
but a dictators mistress.
You are beautiful,
eyes black, Nails painted black
you flirt, caressing deaths mane.
You are beautiful.
Eyes fixated on success,
the ecstasy transcends.
You are, you are nobody,
with ginger eyes to confess.
You are beautiful;
you're the idol painted black,
Living timeless; inhumane.
Your are beautiful.

You Saved My Life

You saved my life
and I don't even know your name.
You're Innocent, far guilty,
with a smile permanently plastered.
I wonder what you would look like without
your sparkling face.
I watch with convulsion, to save myself,
and so I wonder who will save you;
save your childlike innocence.
I don't even know your name,
so do I envy you?
Pity you?
Laugh with you?
Cry for you?
Do I smile and say remember me?
Or spend my life forgetting you?
When you're saving me,
How can i do anything but envy you?
