When we danced underneath the Paschal moon,
I asked her name. Vegas, she said sincere.
With a convicting smile her face was strewn;
I held ten grand when she became my fear.
Seduced, I uttered against games of chance—
reluctant, she smiled; all I seen were lips.
I'm no casino, she said, Let us dance.
Merit was lacking, she read from a script.
She was blackjack, I lived in her embrace,
Reality mangled, she whispered fun.
Two Jacks I drew but she held king and ace.
Cards were played until, clearly, she had won.
After that day—for her—I searched the streets,
but by her hands I was left incomplete.

Certainly We Will Never Meet
Posted by Unknown at 3:47 PM 2 comments
I searched every street, closer to death than you;
Alone, you were the allusion to my obsession.
As I searched, you were the passion in my eyes;
I wandered lost and alone on a bitter street.
A graveyard to my right, your eyes to the left,
Below me bodies rested, above me you sat.
You watched me from the sixth floor,
looking at me, you saw an awful sight.
The epitome of evil dancing in the streets,
You made sure our eyes were not to meet.
Alone, you were the allusion to my obsession.
As I searched, you were the passion in my eyes;
I wandered lost and alone on a bitter street.
A graveyard to my right, your eyes to the left,
Below me bodies rested, above me you sat.
You watched me from the sixth floor,

The epitome of evil dancing in the streets,
You made sure our eyes were not to meet.
Guilt

When I sought for help, I felt filled with guilt—
When I feared imposition I ran home;
With words of ice, my bitterness came built,
My tongue was burnt; in ice I came to roam.
To me, guilt served as both priest and pastor,
My savior—guilt—ripped me away from you;
He cut out my eyes, called me disaster,
Whispered my name and made me think of you.
Without tongue or eyes, I wandered through hell,
Murmured your name and searched for thirteen years.
By my side was guilt; he caused prey for hell—
When I said your name, he destroyed my ears.
I thought that I would stay numb forever,
But guilt ended me; all my endeavors.

The Doctor

The streets are covered in ash; the streets are grey and terrifying.
When I look into your eyes, I see ash falling past your shoulders.
Inside your eyes it snows—grey ash covers your body.
The streets are apocalyptic and all I see is ash,
my terror consumes me, there's no way to hide it.
I want to look away but ash consumes me.
Ash in the streets, ash in the morgue. .
Ash on your breathe, ash when I sleep.
It's everywhere; there's ash everywhere,
it covers the eyes I follow. All the doctors are dead,
they've all been killed by ash, I'm the last.
There's nobody left to fix me, I'm covered in ash.
Ash in the streets, ash in the morgue. .
Ash on my breathe, ash when I sleep.
When I look into your eyes, I see ash falling past your shoulders.
Inside your eyes it snows—grey ash covers your body.

You're Terrifying

I'm afraid when I'm lost in thought,
it feels as though I won't escape—not this time.
I'm afraid that I've made a mistake,
just one, but it keeps me from forgetting you.
I'm afraid that you cross my mind too much,
more often then once in a while.
I'm afraid that my best years have passed,
everything that I'm left to live may be a shadow.
I'm afraid of my potential, how far I could regress,
there's so far I have left to fall... Will I live it?
I'm afraid when the morning comes,
it could be the last... The last without you.
I'm afraid of everything around me,
but mostly... I'm afraid of you.

My Mind Wanders

It's 4:00am and I'm still thinking of you,
I don't know where you are, how you're doing.
No matter where you are in the world
I'll be thinking of you—I'll always be thinking of you.
You're miles away yet still I hold you in my arms,
the farther you run the more my mind chases after you,
At least when you're gone I get to miss you—
I miss you and I don't even know you.
From miles away I can feel your pain, see your dreams;
Your angst is with me, I can feel your desire.
I'm always with you, no matter how alone you feel.
Even if I'm not the who you want, I'm with you

Five Days
Posted by Unknown at 5:11 AM 3 comments
On the first day I thought I was doing just fine
but I began to realize something was missing from my life.
I searched and searched but something was always missing.
The second day came and panic began to set in. my words were slurred,
my entire body began to shake. I drove myself insane
searching for something that I would never find.
By the third day, I was lying on the floor trying to find a reason to breathe.
It felt as though my life was over, I saw no reason to believe in anything;
I didn't think that anything better was going to come around.
The fourth day brought a sharping in my emotion, I began to snap from depression.
Hope began to sink in and so I found myself acting selfishly;
I wanted to stay in my depression but you wouldn't let me.
On the final day—the fifth day—I was excited to see your face again,
it felt as though all would be right again. My only regret is,
by the end of the night you were gone and I was left alone.

Little Bird

Little bird I see sitting there;
do you have a name? Your name I say,
will you share your name with me?
Pristine and beautiful, your name I say.
Little bird, I need to know your name,
Don't lie to me, we both have names you and I,
I need to know—I need to know your name;
little bird your name; your name before you die.
Little bird so small and pretty;
your bones are brittle, pretty bird.
Singsong; you sing songs so pretty.
Sing to me; sing to me; sing me your words.
Little bird with reluctant eyes,
fly away before I insist to speak,
Little bird with reluctant eyes,
All I want is to hear you speak.
do you have a name? Your name I say,
will you share your name with me?
Pristine and beautiful, your name I say.
Little bird, I need to know your name,
Don't lie to me, we both have names you and I,

Happy New Year's

One more era of innocence passes freely,
Without a futile grasp at the clock;
No last hope of aging gracefully,
By not aging at all.
As one more year comes and goes,
We seem to all be standing still, watching as
Lives come, lives go.
Just like the memories of those that once were,
The last moment of sanity comes,
In the form of grief unbearable.
Remember, it doesn’t have to end,
The faces don't have to fade unbearably,
With eye contact one more fable.
Imagine one night, a second chance in what we lost,
The fire that never came,
But burnt us through just the same.
Imagine one more fallen dove,
Watch as the innocence flies towards the sun once again,
Watch the faces of strangers, saddened to the point of tear,
With the hope of something better for one another.
Remember all the final words that seemed so simplistic,
But were lost in the flow of time,
Never again to be carefully stumbled upon for week after week,
Desperately searching for the right ones,
Only to find all of the wrong ones.
What if we could relive the apathetic glories of retirement?
The end of a childhood pastime
That brought a nation together,
Only to later tear it apart.
Carefully follow the streets,
Watch the families preparing for Armageddon,
In the worst of times,
In the most ironic of times.
For how are we expected to live tomorrow,
If we die today?
What if subconscious reunions weren't the only way
To relive what's gone?
Our foggy memories replaced by solid matter to grasp.
Remember the ice, the cold, the disillusions that once were.
Can you remember praying for the warmth of the sixth month?
While not realizing how many lives would be sacrificed on the way.
Remember all the lives lost in the summer time,
And the unbearable emotions to leave it behind.
Never forget the broken friendships, the lost acquaintances,
A time of simplicity that reigned above life itself.
Alone in hotel rooms staring ahead ten years to come,
What do we see but life itself?
Now alone in a hotel room staring back ten years previous,
Desperately holding onto our youth the only way we know how.
One second passes, we pray for our lives;
One hundred thousand pass, where did the time go?
Thirty million pass, just kill us now.
What if we could relive it all even for one night?
What if somebody told you it never has to end,
Time could be endless, a parade of life.
Perhaps we’d say goodbye 2009,
Goodbye forever.

Your eyes fill me with conquests of metaphor;
but in the mirrors gaze, I see my eyes faded grey.
We are different—too different you and I.
We can never meet; never will our worlds collide.
Your world is yellow, while mine is faded grey.
We are different—too different you and I.
You are only a dreamer; I live my life gifted.
When you smile; I watch with my eyes, faded grey.
We are different—too different you and I.
but in the mirrors gaze, I see my eyes faded grey.

Just Another Day

Three lives later and still I turn the page;
I see your face aged 20 years or more.
You're so much older then you were before,
But from the window I see your true age;
Senior in your mind, but tied by your rage;
Ignored never again, I say no more.
With every moment an absolute chore,
Your life is lived on your beloved stage;
Glance in the mirror your body is broken,
Now the scars have faded into your arms,
You see them as flaws; flaws written tonight.
This night should always remain unspoken,
A forgotten night to give back your charm—
Smile soundly, and share your secrets tonight.
I see your face aged 20 years or more.
You're so much older then you were before,
But from the window I see your true age;
Senior in your mind, but tied by your rage;
Ignored never again, I say no more.
With every moment an absolute chore,
Your life is lived on your beloved stage;
