You're Already Gone

I'm looking in all of the wrong places;
I will not find you on a park bench,
that I know, but yet it's where I look for you.
Maybe someday you'll come to sit
and watch the birds as I do today.
By then, I'll be long gone-
your life will have just begun.
Here I sit on my last day and I'm without you,
I came to search for you-but I sit alone.
You should come and sit down beside me,
We could reminisce about who I should be.
Tell me where to find you, I'll look there.
Like an apparition, appear before me
show me where to sit- I don't want to sit alone.
My hands become frozen forever, waiting for you,
Still I sit, on the same bench I've always been on,
Hands frozen, I still search for you.
