I Don't Love You

What of the people we like but don’t love?
They must be intertwined into our lives,
And know we like having them around.
It’s a query, telling one that you miss them
But not enough to pursue their presence.
Love and hate know no bounds but intermitted
Between them indifference is shown as hate.
Speaking no words, winter comes harsh—
Say hello and we're stuck with somebody for life.
How do you affirm I like you a little? Love seems
To be all they hear—they are deaf to us.
Why aren't you listening? We feel like asking.
I like you, but I only like you a little.
