The Sun And Moon

When I open my eyes the walls will split in two,
Thoughts spent—wasted—trying to unite the sun and moon.
I can’t recall when I first saw daylight,
But the moon—oh the moon—so beautiful,
I can’t help but stare in awe, so far above me.
The sun, not to be outdone, shines so brightly
But why must she always be so far away?
I’m positive I couldn’t live without either’s glory,
A dim day, filled with unrenowned sorrow
Or a night so dark I lose my thoughts.
When will they share the sky?
