With 2009 done and gone it's time for a new beginning. For me, 2009 was a year of disappointment and regret. Very few of the things I set out to finish I actually managed to accomplish. Tearing a ligament and two tendons in my knee back in January pretty much destroyed all the physical goals I had for the year and ongoing battles with chronic depression kept my mental goals out of reach.
At the start of 2009 my New Year's resolution was to right a novel. For the first two weeks of the year I worked vigorously trying to start a novel. I got about 5000 words in before my interest faded. I thought that was the end of my New Year's goal but about two weeks ago I have picked up the project again. This time I have a good feeling about it; after two weeks I'm already 30,000 words in and my interest is as strong as ever! My 2010 resolution is to finish what I started in 2009 and finish my novel.
