She Tries Too Hard

She tries to listen to his words.

His words are her life.

She tries to stay calm,

while he contradicts her life.

She tries to listen to his words,

but this life is not his.

She tries hard to remember,

but the memory is his.
     

She tries to thank him,

but he looks so worried.

She tries to say goodbye,

why is he so worried?

She tries to say goodbye,

but he can't let her go.

She says goodbye to him,

As he tries to let her go.
